M4.7 earthquake strikes south of the Kermadec Islands
Magnitude 4.7 at south of the Kermadec Islands; depth 10 km
Magnitude 4.7 at south of the Kermadec Islands; depth 10 km
The M4.7 earthquake tangentially relates to the cosmic disturbances prophecy which mentions 'a great earthquake' (σεισμός μέγας). However, this is a relatively minor earthquake in a remote location, far from the catastrophic global seismic event described in Revelation 6:12 that moves every mountain and island.
This earthquake provides a minimal connection to the prophecy of 'earthquakes in various places' (σεισμοὶ κατὰ τόπους) as a sign of the times. While it fits the geographic pattern of earthquakes occurring globally, a M4.7 event is quite routine and doesn't represent the intensifying birth pangs described in Matthew 24:7-8.
