This earthquake correlates with the prophecy of 'famines, pestilences, and earthquakes' as signs of the times. The Greek term σεισμός (seismos) specifically means earthquake, and Jesus prophesied earthquakes 'in various places' as birth pangs before the end. While this M4.5 quake is relatively minor, it fits the pattern of increasing seismic activity.
