Hurricanes

Hurricanes represent natural upheaval and environmental crises characteristic of the end times. Matthew 24:7 and Luke 21:11 describe 'great earthquakes...and famines, and pestilences, and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven'—a category that encompasses severe weather phenomena. While hurricanes specifically are modern terminology for what ancient texts would describe as destructive storms and natural disasters, they fit the broader pattern of increasing ecological crises in the 'birth pangs' before the end.
