There is a tangential connection between volcanic eruptions and the first trumpet judgment which brings 'hail and fire mixed with blood' that burns vegetation. While Kīlauea's lava fountains don't match the supernatural fire and blood described in Revelation, volcanic eruptions do involve fire from the earth and can cause widespread destruction.
